After a long drive from South Carolina, this meal really hit the spot! My son and I ordered the oxtail, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant at first because of the area, but everyone here was so warm and welcoming. Coming from Nevada, I really appreciate the friendly, laid-back vibe that folks in Virginia have.

Food is THE BOMB!! Worth every penny. We prefer to eat in, only because we live about 20 minutes away and we appreciate our food hot off the stove. Friendly staff. Consistent taste!

It’s a whole vibe when you visit. My first time going was today but me and my family will be back. While I was waiting, there was old school jams playing and the bright colors and decorations reminds me of Auntie/Grandma’s kitchen. The food was AWESOME, AWESOME and AWESOME again. Everyone in my family liked their food.

LISTEN!!If you want some authentic soul food...then THIS is your place! So, we took a family trip for my daughter's 19th birthday to Busch Gardens. After 2 days of walking and spinning, and add that I'm the driver, none of us really wanted traditional fast food. We didn't even want anything we have at home, which is 3 hours away. Well my daughter googled, and we're 15 minutes away... So bet. We make the detour and as we're driving, we pull up, and I ain't gon lie, the neighborhood looks a lil sketchy but we arrive. I grew up with lil hole in the wall restaurants, so when I smelled what I smelled when I stepped outta the car!! I KNEW we'd made the right decision. I open the door and was greeted by the nicest order taker. Every person there made us feel welcomed!! Talking bout Southern charm! Our order taker treated us like she's known us her whole lives! She shows the menu, we all ordered fried chicken wings.... and let me tell y'all!! These were the Pretty Wings Maxwell sung about!! AND THEY WERE COOKED FRESH!!! Didn't need a thing added! The mac n cheese was top tier!! And the fried rice had melting while I ate!! If you're in the area, YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS PLACE!! The ONLY thing I was missing was some bread, but because I'm not a bread person, it's okay, but adding some type of bread would be it!

The food is amazing! As well as the service! I got the turkey wings(comes with a delicious seasond rice),Mac and cheese cabbage, yams cornbread also came with. I tried the food before I pulled off and it tasted so good I had to go back in and grab some mashed potatoes! Everything was so flavorful and well seasoned without being salty at all, I was iffy on getting cabbage as a side but she makes it like my godmother used to before she passed this lady’s food had me in the car crying happy tears full and asleep with all my clothes and shoes on my bed like a kid at 8pm highllyyyyy recommend I will definitely be back! Potatoes yams and Mac not pictured I ate before I thought about it lol

Really nice place for good food... Up and coming so they will improve on atmosphere. I ordered fried catfish, and while food was fresh, catfish lacked flavor. But the cabbage was amazing and made up for it. All in all I enjoyed it and will be back for more.

I’ll admit it I was a little suspicious when I first arrived. (Full disclosure: I’m a certified scaredy-cat who jumps at shadows, so the problem was probably me, not the place.) But from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with professionalism that immediately set me at ease. And then… the food. Oh. My. Goodness. After the first bite, I nearly broke into the Cha Cha Slide and considered leaping off my balcony in pure joy. Every single dish was a flavor-packed masterpiece, and I’m still trying to figure out how to stop daydreaming about it. I’ll absolutely be coming back. And hey, if you ever decide to create a signature custom drink, count me in I promise to sip it responsibly (and maybe dance responsibly, too).
